Circus Catch

We escorted "W" to his first ever circus yesterday. Ok, ok, usually he is the circus, but we thought he could learn some new tricks. It wasn't the Barnum & Bailey, but anything that can keep "W"s attention for over 2 hours is a success in my book. He enjoyed it far more than I had anticipated. Here we are with the cousins during intermission, checking out the elephants, mini horses, bear and spray painted poodles. He was very impressed with the guy that stacked up a dozen chairs and did a head stand on top of them. He gave him a round of applause. Should've known.

In other news.....

"W"s ever-expanding vocabulary and actions now includes good, k, see, grandpa (now with a g, instead of a b), pointing to his eyes, ears, and mouth and calling me by my first name to get my attention.

We bought a new car the other day, pictures to follow when PBTB gets around to detailing it.

I am now 28 weeks pregnant, (or 7 months for those non-mommys who are annoyed by pregnant people and moms who speak in weekly terms for their pregnancies and monthly terms for their children, even after they turn 1). This pregnancy is flying by.

"W" continues to climb on everything he can, periodically breaking things at Grandma's as he goes. BTW, does anyone have any other ideas for getting their exhausted children to go to sleep. He has been in his pack n' play for over an hour now and that's after laying with him for 30 minutes. It's becoming a habit. He's not crying, just yells my name periodically. Maybe his voluntary release of his bottle wasn't such a great thing. We have already tried playing music. He is defective and rarely falls asleep in the car either. Where did this kid come from? I guess I will just go and get him.

Functional Families

I LOVE the article, "Functional Families" in the February Ensign. It's not published online yet, but if you have a subscription, read it. I've already read it twice and I rarely re-read articles, especially in the same week. It has so many good points that I would like to keep fresh in my mind and in my family's minds. Maybe we will read it every week.

On a side note, "W" has given up his bottle. Wow, that was easy. The Dr. said it would be hard to get it away if I didn't take it away at 1 year. Guess he proved her wrong. It was the stuffy nose that did the trick, he wants nothing to do with it. Now all I have to worry about is getting enough nutrition into his little body, he's not really a fan of eating. He'll eat anything, just not very much of it.

Ho-hum

Just a little rant. "W" has a few molars coming in at the same time. He has been so cranky and ornery and sleep deprived (because he can't breathe through his stuffy nose) the last 3 days that I let him take his blankie in the bathtub this morning. At first I told him "no", he has tried this before. But, while he was protesting, I thought, "why not, it needs to be washed anyhow?" So, in the bathtub the blankie went. I hope I don't regret that later. He was displeased, however, that the water made it so heavy.
He went to sleep directly after that, having only been awake for a little over 2 hours. Now, he is still sleeping and it's been over 4 1/2 hours (make that almost 6!). Hallelujah.
Except, now I'm bored. PBTB is on his second day at his new job (yay!), but he works 12 hour shifts (not so much).
If you are wondering why I'm not sleeping, I must be sleep deprived too, you're right. I think my brain has a default in that department. For some reason I can't sleep during the day. There's too many things that I need to be doing.
I didn't have any new photos and I wanted to blog, so there ya go. Have a happy day!

Total Recall

Just a little summons of what I've been doing the last couple of days. Lil' a' this, lil' a' that.
PBTB's uncle passed away and I volunteered the flowers. They asked for something "woodsy". I must love them, because I even agreed to one silk arrangement and I don't do silks. On the up side, no casket saddle (I hate those), because he was cremated.

PS, I seem to have a severe handicap for photographing flowers, they always look a lot better in person. Just a little disclaimer.

A birthday arrangement for the MIL with the left over flowers.

And finally, a scarf for the MIL, also for her birthday.

Proud as a Peacock

Ok, if you don't like mommy bragging, you can just stop reading now. No cute pictures, no clever stories, this post is strictly baby bragging. Stacee, you inspired me, and more so reminded me, that this blog is not just about photo documentation. I should be documenting milestones and such, as well. I keep meaning to write down all of "W"s words, but keep forgetting. So, here goes, this is it. I was putting it off, because I knew I would leave something out, but this was the best I could do. "W" in Wonderland

These pics were actually from last Saturday, better late than never. "W" loves the snow! (read 'loves to eat the snow') It was so beautiful after that really cold storm, the snow was stuck to ev.er.y.thing, however that does not make for good snowman building, it wouldn't stick to itself. The boy and his Daddy are outside now, doing that, so more snow pics to come.
